Wrinkle Treatments
Wrinkle treatments Missoula trusts, including Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin, are available at Gem Aesthetics & Wellness to smooth fine lines and wrinkles. These neuromodulators help soften lines that may have already formed and prevent future wrinkles. These are administered through simple injections. Treatment lasts 3-4 months, with best results seen with consistent use. Dosage is based on muscle activity, but as a rule of thumb, your dosage or units are often similar to your age. Wrinkle relaxers can be used to soften the wrinkles around the eyes, forehead, the “11’s”, as well as lower face wrinkles, “tech neck”, rosacea, TMJ, and hyperhydrosis (excessive sweating).
Frequently Asked Questions
What are Wrinkle Relaxers?
Wrinkle relaxers, or neuromodulators, work by partially blocking the signal that tells our muscles to contract. When muscles are less active, deeper lines and wrinkles are relaxed. GEM carries several different options for treatment of wrinkles including Botox (R), Xeomin (R), and Dysport (R). The choice of which wrinkle relaxer is right for you can be discussed with your provider at your appointment.
How much are Wrinkle Relaxers?
Treatments with Botox (R), Xeomin (R), and Dysport (R) are dosage based and depend on how strong your muscles are, your age, skin health, and how many areas we are treating. Some patients are surprised to know that generally, the number of units you need can often correlate with your age! So if you are 50 years old, you may need somewhere around 50 units. This is not always the case, but is a good general rule of thumb to figure out cost. Dosages are in “units” and units are priced between $14 and $15 depending on the product used.
How should I prepare for my wrinkle treatment?
Treatment with wrinkle relaxers is a relatively quick office visit with little to no downtime. You can return to your normal activities after treatment. For most patients the only concern is a small bruise at injection sites which can be avoided by stopping fish oil, vitamin E, aspirins, ibuprofens, and alcohol 3-5 days in advance of your appointment. Please check with your provider before stopping any medications.
